Health workers announce nationwide strike

The joint Health sector union (JOHESU) and National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM)  have directed their member in Federal hospitals to proceed on a Vague strike.
On Wednesday at a Press conference at Kwara state  Biobelemoye Josiah, National Chairman (JOHESU)
Explained that the union had given government two conditions to respond but the government failed to do so.
" The lymphatic attitude of the government has necessitated the resolve of (JOHESU)  and (NANNM) to call out all of our members nationwide to withdraw their service and stay at home with effect from midnight of today (Wednesday) after waiting on the approval for adjustment of CONHESS.
“In the event that no appreciable response is received from the government within 15 days of commencement of the strike by the federal tertiary health institutions, all our members in the states, and local governments nationwide are directed to join the action by September 28.”
This is a setback to the progress the current administration made in resolving the disputes with the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
"We once again appeal to the Federal Government to tow the oath of honour and implement all agreements, memorandum of understanding, and court judgments, while we urge our members at the tertiary health level to make the strike total and comprehensive.
